Blur Out
Transition from Blur to Clear (Blur Out)
Blur Out
During my workflow, I use blur effects very frequently to create depth and focus in my scenes. However, manually keyframing blur to achieve a smooth fade-like transition (from sharp to blurry and back) is time-consuming and often inconsistent.
From this need, I developed a script called Blur In – Blur Out, inspired by the logic of traditional Fade In – Fade Out, but applied to blur intensity instead of opacity.
Purpose
This script allows you to:
Create smooth transitions between blurred↔clear states
Automatically generate blur keyframes based on timing.
Practical Use
Blur Out is especially useful when:
Using camera zoom in / zoom out and needing to blur the background or characters.
Creating focus / defocus effects.
Making scene transitions softer and more cinematic.
Drawing attention to a subject without distracting visual changes.
Benefits
Saves time
Improves visual flow
Produces smoother, more professional-looking animations.
